wput bug?

Hi there,

I have been using your wput program for quite some time now, to make 
automated offsite backups. However, after a disc crash I had to 
reinstall it. So I downloaded the 0.4 binairies for linux. However, I 
get this error:

> wput ftp://user:pass@ipadress/backup/ -i /backup/busy/1089713036.tgz.gpg
Error: File `6?&ZA???9??5???F???X?T"^Y ?.????W ?E??' ???? ??? ?????. 
D??'? ???? ???? ?? ?? ????? ???? URL.

After which my terminal character set is weird...

Any ideas what might be wrong?
