Hi Dave,
this seems to be a known problem, since i received two bug-reports with 
similar issues, but i did not get further information towards the problem.
So maybe you can help me to track it down.
So what exactly is the problem when logging in? Is no connection made, 
authentication failure...?
It would be great help if you could send me the debug-output (-d flag) of the 
wput session (if required remove any confidential information).
Maybe you are using special characters as a username/password?
