suspected bug w/ wput under Windows 98/2000
Hi there,
I recently unsuccessfully tried to use wput to upload a whole directory from a
Windows 98 PC. I am using this 5.0 Windows binary:
http://itooktheredpill.dyndns.org/wput/wput-0.5.exe (I renamed the file to
wput).
Here's what I did (confidential details removed):
-------quote--------
C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Website>wput -v --timestamping --dont-continue --reupload
html/ ftp://username:password@ftp.hosturl.tld/
Error: File `html/' does not exist. Don't know what to do about this URL.
C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Website>
------unquote-------
I tried all sorts of combinations, including using the backslash instead of the
forward-slash for the html folder, but I could not get wput to upload the html
directory to the server. I experienced similar problems under Windows 2000. I
believe this is a bug and I have a hunch the issue may be that wput gets its
knickers in a twist over the fact that the directory seperation character is
"/" under UNIX and "\" under Windows.
Thanks and regards,
Jens Ropers
